Hi,

My RD is 11th Feb-2002 and FP was done on 1st of May 2002 in Boston. Immediately after FP, I moved to New Jersey and informed INS abot change of address. Will this cause any delays or obstacles in getting my GC? I havent changed my company.

Thanx in advance

Same here.

I am also going to move with in town by end of this month. How did you inform INS about change of address?

Thanks,

I don\'t think, case getting delayed by address change.

I think INS may do criminal background checks at the places, where one lived and one is living. That\'s it.

Case delaying is maily based on the way INS processing the applications(zig-zag) and also I-140, if sent to consulate, will take time to get to NVC and then from NVC to INS mail room and finally into one\'s file.

If there is no gap after the approval of I-140 for filing AOS, then one is lucky. If there is a gap and one\'s attorney replies to a query from NVC, whether filing I-485 for the approved I-140 case, the also one is lucky. If he doesn\'t reply, then NVC will send the approved file to home country\'s consulate. In this case, case may get delayed from 3 to 6 months than normal.
