Portability gurus please post your comments

1.Does one need the sponsoring employer\'s cooperation to switch jobs, in case of an RFE?
2.Can the sponsoring employer interrupt the process if we change jobs?
3.Anybody changed employers in CSC and got AOS approved?

Your Help is greatly appreciated!

if u r past 180 days of rd it is okay - You need employer letter from new employer specifying that u r a full time employee - 40 hours per week, salary amount, job description which should be extremely similar to old job and it is good if u have pay stubs

You may or may not inform CSC that u r changing jobs but you need to do so in case of rfe - also the lawyer needs to mention the ac21 clause etc etc. Get a good lawyer who has handled ac21 cases.

Also dont worry - please check the news group
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/180days
you will need to create an id to login to that group
after creating an id u may not get access for an hour or so

Thank you so much rjngh2000. Could you clarify the following please?

Do we include holidays while counting 180 days or strictly business days? My Receipt date is 08.17.01

Our sponsoring company had a name change after our I140. If there is an RFE for that will i need their cooperation for replying the RFE?

Thanks a lot.

Good article on 180 days rule

There is on in shusterman site specifically on 180 days rule. I will clear most of the doubts.

american wording is very specific

The ac21 law says 180 days from filing date
This means 180 calendar days from receipt date
