Hi all,

I just mailed my application N400 yesterday. On review I discovered that in the section part 10 - have u ever filed taxes as a non resident i said YES instead of NO.

Can anyone please post on how to update or change this in the n400.

Thx in advance

Shouldn't you have reviewed it BEFORE sending it?:)

Answering YES to filing taxes as a non resident is quite serious. You cannot do anything now that you have sent the application. If you are lucky enough to get an interview you can correct it at that time.

thx wantmygcnow, nkm-oct23 and happyvoda for ur quick replies.

yes nkm-oct23

thats the reason i am worried.

do u think its serious enough for my application to be denied...?

or can i update the application after i receive the application number or can i talk to a case officer on recieving application number ???

thx

Nothing has happened for me yet..;)..28th is the interview!

First thing at the interview you will be given the opportunity to make changes to your application. You can correct the information and let the officer know it was an honest mistake. You can also take tax transcripts with you just to be on the safe side. You will be interviewed for sure since they need to give you an opportunity to explain yourself. Do not worry, you are not in any trouble.
