change of H1 employer.. I am in india

Hi,

I am in India and have approved H1B petition and visa from company X, but i am planning to switch to company Y.

please give your expert comments my below questions.
1) Can I join company Y as soon as I enter US with current valid H1 visa for company X.

2) Or can I change my H1 from employer X to Y when I am in india ?

---------------------- YES, if new employer Y file H1 petition with USCIS for you and sends you H1 approval notice ( it is not change of employer as you are in India and not working in US with X or Y).

best option is to join X when enter US after you get 2-3 paystub then file H1 transfer through Y. If you come to join X and X does not pay you then you will be out of status.
