Hi
Can you please advise!!!
My ND is Feb 19, 2002. I am in Cleveland, OH under NSC and my company wants to move me to New Jersey which is under VSC.
I am getting someone to stay in Cleveland house for 6 months.
Should I file AR-11 (Company is same)?
If I file AR-11 and move to NJ then change of Centre from NSC to VSC will be a problem?
If am afraid if I change center from NSC to VSC then will my case be transferred to some Local office then it might take 2-3 years?

Can anybodsdy please answer my Q?
Anybody in same situation can please HELP!!!

I dont think your case will be transferred just because you moved out of NSC's jurisdiction. I was in MI when I filed my 485 with NSC. A few months later, moved to VA(under VSC), followed the procedure for change of address and confirmed this by calling NSC. I received my 2nd EAD and 2nd FP notice to my new address. My case is Rfed also and no transfer due to address change(atleast so far).

CMR,

That means for EAD renewal, advance parole etc I need to send request to NSC not VSC, even If I am staying in New Jersey right?

I move from NSC centre to VSC centre and my case processing restarts , then does the case gets transferred to LOCAL office in New Jersey or it will still be handled by NSC till the END?
'cos if ur case gets TRANSFERRED to Local office there is 2-3 years wait?

First of all, you should follow the proper procedure for change of address like AR-11 and lawyer sending a letter to NSC( or doing it on phone with BCIS now, as someone suggested). Then confirm the change by calling BCIS. Send all your renewal documents to NSC not VSC.

Because your ND is in Feb'02 and there is a chance that you may get an RFE or approval in the next couple of months, if you wish to somehow continue to maintain the Cleveland address to avoid all this hassle, then that's a different story(I am not getting into the notifiying within 10 days part here). It all depends on how long BCIS takes before it gets to your case and how long you can successfully maintain the Cleveland address.

Botom line is, your case wont be transferred for this reason alone and all your communication should be with NSC until they tell you otherwise.

Just to add to cmr's reply:

Local office transfer doesnt necessarily mean 2-3 years delay. Really depends on the local office. From the postings on this forum, Chicago (and perhaps Detroit) seem to be pretty notorious; about a years delay (Check the local transfer forum postings for details). Many others takes 3-6 months. Check the relevant forum in VSC to get an idea of the delay at the relevant local office in NJ where you are moving to.

One more thing -> If you maintain address in Cleveland , Make sure you pay checks address reflects cleveland's address and not NJ adress. It depends how flexible your company is with you .. If for some reason BCIS sends an RFE for paystubs then paystub address should be same as the address with BCIS. Other option is you can keep Cleveland address as Primary residence ..

Guys

I am planning to change my employer from MI to NJ (NSC to VSC), will my case be transferred? I will still be living in the same address, and working for same client.
