Change of Address

Is it more advisable to send it through fedex and ask for a signed acknowledgement stating that INS received my change of address?

Thanks!

USPS certified mail is good enough and cheaper.
I just mailed my 1040 tax return.
My receipts says:

certified Fee $2.30. Returned receipt fee $1.75
plus potages $1.06 but the tax return is heavy and
AR-11 is light and only need postage $0.37, the total for AR-11 would be $ 4.42, much cheaper than FedEx.

USPS keep records for two years so that
you need USCIS return receipts.

and I don't think speed matters. It has to be done
within 10 days but I think the USPS date stamp
counts.

If you do want to send by FedEx, the USCIS
address may be different than that for USPS mails

Americanwannabe,
Thanks for the update.
INS website has 2 addresses one with PO Box and other is for commercial overnight or fast freight services, only;
Does certified usps mail send back acknowledgement?
For certified usps mail, do i need to send it to the Non-PO address?

If you request "return receipt" FOR $1.75, then
you get acknowlegdement.

You send cetified mail to that P.O.Box.
I did so and I got the return receipt.

Return receipt is called PS form 3811. You
fill it and attach it to your mail. When
USCIS receive your mail, USCIS detach
the return receipt, signed it, and mail
it back to you.

They send return recipt (PS Form 3811)
back as it were a postcard so it can still
be lost. Give it sometime and if you
don't got it, make inquiry. If you get
it, save it together with your other
immi documents.
