I applied for citizenship in New Jersey, but i'm about to move to Virginia due to a new Job opportunity. It is allowable to move to a different state after applying for citizenship (N-400)?

Of course you can move. Life can not stop because of N400. However, if the new DO has to take up your case, you have to be resident there for 90 days. This will cause some delays when you report your change. If you can manage the N400 before moving, well and good. Otherwise, be prepared to chase the files.

Your interview will be delayed until you complete 90 days in Virginia. You may get an interview notice for a date before that, but once the interviewer realizes you moved less than 90 days ago, they'll stop the interview and reschedule you for another one.

There is a bit of confusion that is being perpertuated on this topic. I faced a similar problem with my application. I had lived in new jersey for years when i applied for citizenship. You are only expected to meet the 90 day requirement when you put in the application the first time. If you move, i will submit that there maybe delays because everybody's situation is different...but in my case there no delays whatsoever. Like I said, i applied while i lived in new jersey, did my FP in new jersey but moved to new york a few days before my interview. I called USCIS and told them i had moved and they simply cancelled my interview in jersey and gave me one in new york a couple of weeks later.
