Guys,
My I-140 just approved. My passport has old address. We moved to new place just 40 miles from that place. Do I need to get it changed in my passport? If yes how long will it take and what additional documents I need to provide to change the address in passport. Can I file my I-485 with old address?
Guys please help!
Thanks

No need to change address in passport

Passport is not a dirver license that requires to change each time you change the address. Yes, you can apply 485 with the old address in the passport. Dont think tooooooooo much.

Check with an attorney, because I am not an attorney

My address in India changed twice since I got my passport. It never ocured to me that it would be a problem and it was not.

Which address to give in 485 application

Thanks guys for your replies.

Which address you gave in 485 application?
Will there be any verification for that address in future by INS?

Thanks for your help

The address I gave in the 485 form is the current address of my folks back in India and not the address we used to live in 20yrs ago when I first got my passport.

I don\'t think the INS has the manpower to verify every address on every application, especially if it is supposed to be an old address. I do not think anyone checked my addresses.

I still think you are worrying needlessly. Of all the things that INS can find fault with, this is the least probable one.
