Dear Friends,

I moved recently to a new address, after moving to new address I called the National Customer service and updated my new address against my I 485 application, the officer took my I 1485 receipt number and updated my new address, during that converstaion I indicated the address change for my wife's application also, the officer took the I 485 receipt number and said it is updated. Later I observed that the LUD changed against my I 485 application, but no LUD change for my wife's application. Is it normal, have anyone came across this situation.

Appreciate your response.

Thanks

Kris

hi!

In order to get your wife details updated your wife needs to call herself and give her details. Ot atleast when you have called youshould have specifically asked them to updated your wifes details. Then they will ask your wife her permission to allow you to change her details then they do it. I can understand that she is your dependent but some how they dont automatically update your dependents details.

The strange part the the officer mentioned that she is changing the address for my wife's I 485 also.

I don't know what exactly happened, but let me ask my wife to call and change herself.

Thanks

jackmike,

I could understand the situation when a dependent is an adult. But what about a kid? I wouldn't ask my 7 year old son to call USCIS and change an address. Please, what would be your suggestions? Do you really think if I call to change the address for all of us, they will not accept changes for my dependents? We are moving next week.

thank you

You should also send an AR11 form by mail (preferrable confirmed mail), one for each applicant and dependant. This is required to be sent in 10 days after moving.
