Change of Address form for TN?

Hey guys,

I have a quick question to ask. I am on TN status valid until July 2009. I will be moving addresses here in the US in October (same state, city etc., just a different part of town). I'm with the same employer, performing the same tasks as in my TN term etc nothing changes with my TN. Am I supposesd to use the form AR-11 for just moving period or is that form only for change of address when an application of some sort (Visa/Status, AOS etc) is still pending? I ask because I wouldn't want to have to fill out a form if I do not need to.

Thank you,

CJ

Hello all,

Please disregard my original post, I did additional research and found out that yes I do need to register my change in address when I move (my initial search did not turn up much helpful info).

One question I still do have is the question on the AR-11 form "If above [new] address is temporary, I expect to remain there X Years X Months". I presume that I would put the date my current TN expires but what if we end up staying longer? Would the AR-11 commit one to having to leave the residence?

I ask because I am to be wed to my USC fiancee this October and we will be moving into this home that was purchased. What kind of date would I put in this case? (Date my TN status expires for now I guess?).

Your insights are greatly appreciated as always.

Thank you,

CJ

You are not making a 'temporary move', so no need to fill this part. You are moving. period.

A temporary move would be, for example, to go to school in another state, while maintaining your current residence.

Nelsona,

Thank you very much for your reply. Once I have moved in October I will do as you suggest and leave that section blank as what you've stated makes perfect sense.

Thank you again,

CJ
