Small question to ask all the Gurus.I am still waiting for a receipt for my concurrent filing application sent on Oct 15th.

I am planning to change my address. I wanted to move to another apartment in my same apartment complex. But the apartment number would be different.

Is this recommended during I-485 stage (since I dont even have a receipt yet. Please give me your opinions

Thanks in advance !!!

No problem

It is a post office issue.
Send a letter (after you receive receipt notice) and follow it up with a call to INS a month later..

Thanks Jaxen !!
1) My case is being handled through an attorney. But still should I give INS a call myself. My attorney is saying that they will just mail the new address to the INS.

2) Secondly shall I wait till I get receipt notice first.

3) Thirdly could there be a problem at all if I change my address or shall I just wait till I get the Green Card.

Wait for your receipt and send in form G731 (just page 2) to your service center. Call after a month to check.

However, you might have to send in you AR11 to Washington within 10 days of your move. Since this form does not ask for your receipt #, you can mail this before you get your receipt.

Check the following thread for some discussion on this issue.

Hi Folks,
I gave my cousins address on my I-485 as i was planning to move from my current residence.. But I din't move.. Does any one know if this is going to be a problem.. I know couple of my friends did the same and they got their approval..

it is advisable to call the INS center & change it now(to my actual address)..
