Change of address after filing for a Gc

Hello All,

Thank you for helping me in the past in completing my forms. I have an interview in a week. I moved from my old address. Do I have to submit a form for an address change or is it enough if I put an address forward with USPS? Do USCIS mails get forwarded?

File AR-11 to report the address change, and inform the interviewer of the new address. USPS won't forward important USCIS mail like your GC.

Make sure to do an address change online for BOTH your general file, AND for your GC application specifically.

Yes. Submit the AR-11 online AND also CALL the USCIS to update your application's address.
It happened to me that they sent to my old address the biometrics appointment and I missed it because I ONLY updated the AR-11. That missing mail caused 6 month delay to my application

What should be the form number that I enter? in the confirmation text message I received, it only lists form 797. When I filed, I entered my in laws address as the mailing address, but for some reason they sent the interview letter to my appt..

Should I enter my old apartment address as my old address and my new appt address as my new one? for which forms? I got 4 confirmation texts from them all say form I-797, so I am confused about it.

They're referring to the forms you submitted which are still pending ... I-130, I-485, also I-765 and I-131 if you filed those and haven't received the approved documents yet.
