Change of address after case transfer

Hi All,
Greetings.
My case was transferred from VSC to Baltimore On Sep-28-2004. I haven't received any other communication from Baltimore about this.
I changed my residence in November. [My original address and the new address both are inside Maryland.] I have sent AR-11 for the address change. I also called National Service Center to update them for the pending 485. I asked the customer service rep at NSC if i need to inform the Baltimore office about my change of address as my case is not at the Baltimore District Office. She said it is not required as my AR-11 should take care of that.
Based on past experiences with answers from reps, I would like to clarify with the group if anyone else happened to go through this process.
Would greatly appreciate if someone could throw some light on this.

Thanks in advance for your time and response, have a good one,
V!

I changed my address before my transfer. My lawyer changed his address before my transfer, and then I changed lawyers. Nobody receives confirmation that the case was received at the local office. The only way you can get that confirmation is if you visit the local office and inquire.

The local office has sent correspondence to my old address and a copy to my old lawyer's old address. (not even to the old lawyer's new address, and of course not to the new lawyer)

I never got the originals sent to my old address. They are forever lost in the mail. The copies sent to the old lawyer's old address eventually got forwarded by the US Post Office. He sent them to me, and a copy to the new lawyer.

All this even after I visited the local office and verified that they had my correct address. One system had it correct, and another had it wrong. Still, they sent stuff to the wrong address.

Bottom line, contact your lawyer, he may have a copy. If you don't have a lawyer, keep visiting the local office regularly to find out if they mailed anything to you.

Hi curiousGeorge,
Thanks for your detailed response. Although it started like a tounge-twister, I was able to comprehend what you went through after reading it a couple of times. Amazing how their systems work..... So much for integrating their systems to track "Aliens"....

Anyway, just to prove their track record, VSC sent me a letter this week asking me to send a letter to the Baltimore district office requesting a Change of Address as my case is now residing at the local [Baltimore] office....
I am sending a letter to the Baltimore office.

A few clarifications...
My spouse is a dependant/derivative on my 485 and she hasn't received any communication from VSC for the change of address. I guess I might as well send a letter for my spouse too and not wait for the "special" letter from VSC.

Which is better, send a Certified Mail to Baltimore or go in person [infopass] and submit a change of address?

In terms of infopass appointment, can I and my wife get a combo appointment or is it going to be separate appointments or how does this work...?

Thanks in advance for your time,
Have a good one,
V!!

------ send the letter by certified return reciept, attach the copy of VSC letter, copy of your I-485 reciept(so that they know the EAC#) write your Name, A# and DOB on cover letter, write your past address and NEW ADDRESS in Bold, and also write that your Spouse Name, A#, DOB and her case is also transfred with your file from VSC, request that the Interview notice letter should be sent to address:....................(bold big letters)

---do that

--------- I will send the certified letter and out side the envelope write in big bold letters : I-485 transfred to Baltimore Please update the Address and after 1 week of sending the letter go in Person(infopass) to make sure they have updated the address.

-----separate appointments and you take your ID and spouse should take her ID
