Change of Address after Approval but before getting the card

Hi Folks,

Is it advisable to change the address right after approval. If I do change the address will the card come to the new address ???

After living seperate from family for 9 months I cannot wait for another 2 months to get the card.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated,

You can change the address. There is no harm in doing that. BCIS can't tell you where you should be staying. Just make sure you file AR-11 form with them (for address change).
Also BCIS mails are never forwarded. You need to have your new address on record with them.
So if you are expecting ur card and you have moved, that card will not make its way to your new address unless AR-11 has been filed.
 
Thanks, Guess as soon as I get approval I should submit for Address change. Just so that BCIS does not send the card to the old address.

AFAIK, you can change address when stamping. Just tell them to change your address on the I-89 form. That will do it. Then file AR-11. Don't bother calling the 800-number to change address after your case is approved, since those ISO will NOT allow you to do that:(

Actually, I think changing your address on the I-89 form when stamping is more than enough. Your AR-11 will not be handled before your actual plastic card is mailed out.

If one tells the INS a new address at the stamping will this cause any questions? For example, if the new address is in a different state?
 
Actually, I have the same question. What if the new address is in a different state? Giving that new address to the BCIS person while going for approval stamping, would that raise any question/concern from them.
 
My 2 cents, after approval get your stamping and address change done at new address .
Just need to take some sort of proof such as DL / Lease for address verification !!
