change J1 to H1B to J1

Hi,

My situation is as follows:
For an American employer I had been on a J1 visa for three years.
After that my status was changed to H1B (for one more year).

Now I want to start to work for an European employer (in the US).
My question is:
After 3 years of J1 status and 1 year of H1B status, can I now get
a J1 visa again? (if not: are there any other solutions?)

Thank you in advance!

Sorry, but I don't understand your question:

why not? of course, you can change your status to J-1. But why would you want to?

I thought that if I am employed by a European employer, I could not be on H1B status. That's why I thought that I had to change back to J1 status when changing to the European employer. (and it seems that is also what my current American employer and my possible future European employer are thinking).

If this assumption is wrong, please let me know! Maybe you can direct me to some information regarding my options.

Thank you very much in advance!

I don't know anything about the assumption, but in any case - it is possible to change status to J-1, if the emoloyer is authorized to provide it.
