Change from F1 to H1...and H1 starting on 10/1/04 can stay

want opinion on my case for staying on till 1st OCt

Hi, I am in a graduate program in the US (1st year), currently on
F1. I have now got a H1-B visa approved with COS - start date of 1st OCt
2004. I do not wish to continue studying in Fall 2004 for some reason.

Can I stay on under the new regulations?
 
Not sure...may be ginnu or others could comment on this and let me know whether my interpretation is correct.

Technically u are on F1 untill Oct 1st. In most of the school, the Fall sem starts in Aug or Sept so u may have to register in fall to keep F1 going...and switch over to H1 on oct 1st.

If u have an approved H1B starting on Oct 1 2004....u can do part time school or no school at all...this will not make any difference as will be no more on F1 and dont have to register...
