Change from CP to AOS

[SPA]

In my I-140 I asked for CP. I-140 is not approved yet. Can I change option and move to 485 after I-140 is approved ?

I would say stick to CP if possible.

I went thru AOS. But now I feel I should have gone for CP. it is more than 7 months now after filing I-485 and looks it may take 3-4 months more

But there are circum beyond my control - I may have to change. Is it possible ?
