Change from consular processing to regular processing

Can someone give me advice on what is the process to change from consular processing to regular processing. I am still in labor stage and would be filing I140 soon. I want to go for consular processing but in case I have to change it to regular processing later, what is the process, what are the risks. My lawyer says that its much easier to change from consular to regular then the other way around.
If someone had such experience then please advice.

You can do either or when filing I140

When filing I140, tell your lawyer to include AOS or CP at
 consulate, India.

This will give flexibility to go either way when time comes...

Your attorney is right

It is better to choose CP.......then if u change ur mind,u just need to file i485 without any further process.....

I do not think u can chosse both( either or ) .

Best.

No Title

I know that if I choose AOS while filing 140 and later decide to change it to CP, it takes a long time.
You mean to say that there is no delay as a result of changing from one method to other if i choose CP to AOS option.

We should decide one thing and select.

If you want to change, there is a pain in both ways.

If I filed I140 WITH CP, later I changed to AOS. INS will send your file first to NVC and request your file back from NVC. That takes time too.

if the consulate for your state in India accepts AC140 then choose 485 and do that

AC140 is pretty fast and you can save valuable time. You can live tension free life. In India Mumbai and Delhi accepts AC140 cases. Now a days randomly after 140 accepted files were not sent to NVC for months some time, mine reached after 2 months. So it is better to do AC140 than AOS and normal CP.
