Change F1 to F2 or H4

Dear every one.

I am a F1 and my OPT ends this May. I have not found a job yet. I want to transfer to F2. My wife is a F1 student now and her I-20 ends in this Ausust. There are some complications in my situation. Although my wife is a F1 student, she has found a job and now she is on her OPT (Mar/05 to Mar/06). I am wondering if my F2 application will be denied. Also my wife is about to apply H1 after April 1st, and I want also get a H4.

Dilemma:

My opt ends this May, I have to get a F2 on my wife.

Before the approval of F2, I need to apply H4 which starts on April 1st.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

since you have time till may, you can apply for H4 at the same time as your wife applies for H1. IN any case, you can apply for F-2 just before your F-1 status ends. Later you can apply to change your status to H4.
 
Still confusing

If my wife's H1 and my H4 have got appoved first(she is applying the 65,000 quota and the starting date of H1/H4 is Oct. 1st), say around begining of May, If I apply F2 after the approval of H1/H4, Do these two status conflict. Many thanks.
 
time gap

another question, if I do not apply F2, then there is a four months time gap between the ending of my opt and the begining time of H1/H4, how to solve that problem? many thanks
 
Still have a question

What will I do if I get my F2, say around August, and my wife's H1 does not get appoved until several days before Oct. 1st, since it takes time for the documents to travel, how I am going to do with the very short period to apply H4, will I have trouble if I file H4 after her H1 starting date, say Oct. 1st? Thanks in advance. :confused:
