Hi,

I have passed more than 300 days after filing for my 485. I am planning to change the company. When I spoke to my attorney he said I didnt need to file with INS my change of Job. Is it true?

Am I missing something here. Is there any chance my present employer can do anything with my case.

Thanks for your reply.

Your attorney is right,, u don't HAVE to

Hey
Hope this link helps
http://www.murthy.com/UDac21qa.html

especially look at Q. 10
Question 10 : How do I exercise the portability provisions? What do I actually have to do?

it outlines 2 approaches, one where you inform INS, and another where u don't and do so later only if u recieve an RFE.

I have seen the latter strategy to be more popular, i.e. wait for an RFE, and only if u get one, tell INs about ur new job. But rest is upto you and your lawyer.

I am in the same boat, I'm also thinking of changing employers.

p.s. - this is not legal advise and I am not an attorney

me too in the same boat.

I'm just changing my lawyer to the new company. i.e. G-28 forms which will make sure that INS will send all the com'n to my new lawyer.

No where they ( INS ) Specify that we need to inform them about job change. Its only address change always.

But just like Avi mentioned in the previous post, I'm also not a lawyer..

Thanks,
udp.
