Change Adress after Receiving the Inmigration Visa

Hi Friend:

When I went to the interview at the embassy I gave the address of a friend who live in Maryland (I`dont have relatives there) to arrive there when I move to the US until I get my independence but my company going to send me to live to US and to continuos working there but in TUCSON, know I going to arrive to Tucson insted of arriving to Maryland, can I have some trouble in the port of entry because of the envelop that I should give to the officer in the port of entry mention a different addres???

Is necessary arrive to the addres that is in my envelop? Can I change that address in that moment? Can I arrive to Tucson and the change my address that next day comunicating to the DHS?? Do I need contact to my embassy and ask them what should I do??

Someone of you have lived this situation?

Try to call to your embassy and ask the the same question. Don't be shy :-)
Try to get a letter from your company discribing their needs to have you in Tucson and give that letter to the officer @ POE.

I`ve tried to comunicate me with the embassy but I couldn`t , the option for the the lottery visa is not active, and the once I went to the same embassy personally and they insist in that I should call and I don`t what else to do.
 
Nothing to worry..You can change your address at POE, even immigration officer will be asking you if any changes on the address. That's all..

absolutely not. You can go anywhere you want to and arrive through any city you want to.

no, but you can give your new address to the officer at the point of entry, and maybe, your GC will go to your new address. However, you friend in MD needs to be aware that it might arrive at his address anyway. He needs to write your name inside his mail box and warn the mailman not to send your card back. You need to do the same at your new address.

The company going to rent a house for me in Tucson, that would be my new adress, my friend in MD knows that I am going to arrive to Tucson, she was suggesting me to go to MD first and then go to Tucson, but I was thinking that it would be expensive and innecesary, but if it was the only one solution I would do it.


But, if I give to the officer the new adress in the POE in that moment, then, when I arrive to Tucson should call or go to the DHS for change my address?

Your permanent address will be updated when you will inform the immigration officer about that at POE. So you dont need to call DHS or anywhere else..You will receive welcome letter, GC, etc, at your new address.
 
But I heard several cases, although people informed new address at POE, GC came to former one. Post box at former address is needed to be monitored just in case. You are welcome..
