Chances of rejection from F2 to F1

Hi,
I am currently on F1 status and will be graduating in August 2006. My wife is on F2 status and planning to get in college in May 2006 of August 2006.
If she get admitted, she has to get her status converted from F2 to F1.
Are there chances of rejection because I will be on OPT by that time.
Please please answer....

We had exactly the same situation. I was on F1 OPT and my wife applied from F2 to F1. Thankfully, her F1 was approved reasonably fast. However, her International Programs Office (at Johns Hopkins) was very supportive and took a lot of care in preparing her application.

I would suggest you do an impeccable job with her application, just to be on the safe side. Make sure you show sufficient proof of funds, a strong letter why she wishes to pursue her studies and in general all pertinent documentation.
