Chances of Name Check delays

Reading the forum I am getting paranoid, my interview date is March 8th, 2006 in Chicago.

I have been on the no-fly list in the past because I have two very common names (both English sounding). However I filled out an identity verification form and since then had no trouble flying. I have also travelled internationally since then with no problem

Do you think the identity verification is going to help? Is there anyone out there with no-fly experience?

I will find out soon, but just wanted to de-stress by sharing

Thanks for reading

I would say whatever you provide to them for 'trying to help them' in name check process would not work. if your name check is going to stuck, it will. just enjoy the moment, and you do not need to de-stress at all. it is no stress since it is totally out of your control (for now).

Yes, I believe it will help. I had to undergo a name check when flying back to the US from Toronto in June 2005. I was delayed by US immigration at the airport in Toronto for 2 hours as my very common Irish name was on a terrorist watch list. They ran a check thru Washington DC and I was allowed to board the plane. I applied for citizenship in Aug 2005 and was naturalized in Jan 2006. I am convinced that the trip to Toronto took many months off my citizenship application. Because I was at the airport to board a flight, the name check had to be done quickly. However, with a citizenship application, they are in no hurry and you simply join the backlog.
