Certified Translations & Notary Public?

Hi all,
I have received the second package and I'm having my interview in London in second week of April. Looking at the list of documents required for the interview, I just noticed that it says:
"Translations: All documents not in English must be accompanied by certified translations into English. Translations must be certified by a qualified independent translator and sworn to before a Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths."

I have certified translations of all my documents but I have no idea what I should do for the Notary Public. In fact, what does it mean?

the original documents at the other consulates are usually in the native language of the country, and the consular officer can read the originals. For the originals not in English or the native language of the country - notarizations are usually required. If you have no time to notarize them, I'd go to the interview as is. If notarizations are required, you can send them in later.

Notarization means that the translator (John Smith) will sign the docs in a presence of a notary public, and notary public will certify that the person who signed the document (John Smith) is in fact who he claims to be - John Smith.

Many thanks, LucyMO. I emailed London Embassy about this and they answered:

"You are not required to have the translations individually notarized. Provided you have the document translated by a certified translator and include a statement signed by the translator that states the translation is accurate, and the translator is competent to translate."
