If you were a U.S. Permanent Resident, it used to unnecessary for you to obtain a visa for travel to Mexico as a tourist (even if you needed one before becoming a PR).

b Thanks to the events of 9/11, this has changed!
Citizens of certain countries who are U.S. PRs must now obtain an approval from the "Mexican Immigration Authority" in Mexico City before travel, which can take up to 3 weeks (or more). You\'ll need to visit a consulate in person with copies of your passport, PR card (or stamp), copy of a bank statement, and a letter verifying your employment, plus complete a questionnaire.

You should call your consulate for specifics, since most consulate websites have not yet been updated with these requirements. The Chicago consulate\'s site seems to have the most information about this: http://www.consulmexchicago.com/visas.htm Also check Austin, TX: http://www.onr.com/consulmx/English/tourist_visa.html

Say no to Mexico

Since Mexico is so unfriendly to a big portion of PRs,
we should unite all PRs to say no to Mexico until they
change their bad laws.

U bet !!

U see INDIA has been put in a list of terrorist countries....These amigos have no idea that India is a victim of terrorism just like US.

No Title

I have serious doubts about new clearance procedures to enter Mexico. I had a CP interview in Ciudad Juarez on Dec. 13, and entered Mexico without anyone even looking at my passport, let alone visa or permit. So, don\'t get too excited.

Yeah, who the heck wants to go to Mexico anyway?

The only time I would go is for the beach resorts. If they dont want tourist dollars, fine with me. I rather go to Bermuda.
