Case with officer?

I called TSC this morning and was told that my wife\'s file is
being reviewed by an officier. The IIO then said it does not
mean anything. I said it typically take a few weeks for an officer
to make a decision. She said that is the case for simplier petition
types, but not for I-485. The officer may just check to see if
anything is missing.

Since I am the principle applicant, The IIO suggest I send a fax to the
officer who has my wife file, asking him/her to get my case too. The IIO
gave me the officer\'s number (#xx). According to her, they cannot
send a request to their supervisor to expedite a case, but we can do
it based on near FP expiration. Our FP will expire on 09/09/01.

Any comments? Desi09210?

caughtinbetween,

yes, what she said is true. Reviewing a case doesn\'t mean anything. You can expect some thing positive only when a case is ASSIGNED to an officer. That\'s when a case is considered to be close to final adjudication. It is good that she gave you a number to contact the officer, usually they don\'t do that.

As for FP, may be it is a good sign thet your\'s is close to expiry of FP. As the trend shows now-a-days, expiry of FP or renewals of EAD/AP is helping in expediting 485 approvals.

Apart from sending a fax to the number that the IIO gave you, try faxing to the regular fax numbers also (addressing them to the Director of TSC) urging them the need to approve your cases considering the expiry of your FP soon.

In case you are not aware of, TSC fax numbers:
214-489-4012
214-767-7654

good luck,
