Case under active review - What does it mean?

When I check my application's status it says:


Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Interview conducted; case under review.

An interview was conducted and your case is under active review by an immigration officer. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you.


What does it mean? Did any of you experience something similar?

You had your interview already? I think it would mean they are making their decision on whether you are approved or are going to be going for a 2nd interview (stokes) or denied


I'm pretty new around here so a senior member will probably have more help for you than I have but thats what came to mind.

Yeah I had my interview. Thanks JnJ. The officer was cool with
the application but she said she needed her supervisor to approve
it.
 
I hope it went well!

I think basically what she told you about getting her supervisor to approve it is exactly what that status online means too!
 
Thank you it seemed to go well. For some reasons she said she
needed her supervisor. I wonder how long would they take to
make a decision.
 
Could it take very long? Usually does this lead to a second interview?
Ofcourse no one can know but from I'm trying to deduce from
others' experiences.
 
I read many topics and InterviewFAQ.doc file on forums.
From what I see this only leads to second interview and
for a year they say nothing. Is there ANY example that
ended with another result than a second interview? What is
bad is they sounded like eveything was OK and soon
we should get a reply but I yet to see an example on forums
that got a fast reply.
 
I have the same message online for my I-485

We had our interview in april 2007. The interviewer told us that she would have approved us immediately but that the namecheck was not complete. As soon as they got the namecheck complete from FBI she said she had no problems in approving the 485. I still see the same msg online. Had taken an infopass sometime in June and they said the namecheck was still not complete. But in July I see that there was an update on my pettion but the msg remains the same online. I hope to God they don't ask us to come in for a second interview. That would be a pain.... Maybe I need to set up an infopass or talk to my IO.
 
My case has beening under the same status for more than 3 months, I still have not heard anything new yet. Please keep me updated if you hear anything, I will do the same.

Thank God and USCIS today I got my GC!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't tell how
happy me and my wife are but I bet you can imagine. I'll post my timeline
(as a signature as well)

Good luck schmd2000. I hope you will get an aproval soon as well.
