I just checked online and found out that mine and my spouse's case were transferred to Newark office to schedule an interview. Here is the message:

On June 30, 2003, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in NEWARK AND TETERBORO, NJ for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in NEWARK AND TETERBORO, NJ will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case. If you need further information, please call the NCSC at (800) 375-5283

Does anyone has any similar experience? How long is it going to take for the interview to be scheduled? And any details about the interview?

Thank you!

Our case details:

RD 1/30/02
ND 2/13/02
FP 5/2002
AD ?

hey that's a good thing! Newark is one of the fastest to get an interview!
Hope everything works out for you :)

This is an EB1-EA case. Nothing else special. No RFE at all. I guess they may ask for employment letter during the interview.

Fromhyd,

I just received a letter from VSC saying that the case has been transferred to our local office at Newark on June 30th etc. Let's keep each other updated so that we can have a better idea what is going on.

Thanks!

Sure. Once I hear something I will let you know. Mine is
EB-2. I didn't received anything from VSC. I will findout from attorney whether they received something. Thanks for your update.

My case also got transferred to Newark for interview (EB1-EA,
RD 30Jan02). Let us keep each other informed by posting
developments. Thanks. --Jim

Today I received mail from newark local office. Interview is scheduled on Aug 12th. I hope you both will hear pretty soon.
My finger prints will expire on July24th.

I am also an EB1-EA I have been told I will be transfereed to Newark but haven't got any written info yet. The online message is still the old finger print one.

Hi, Guys,

I just received the interview letter from Newark office yesterday and the interview is scheduled on 8/19/03. They are asking for passports, I-94, medical exam result (Form I-693 is attached) and employment letter. There are also some notes at the bottom of the letter saying that Affidavit of Support is needed if it was not already submitted, and bring all the original documents that could support the application (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.).

They are faster than what I have expected. Let's wait and see.

Yuan2000, Fromhyd, and fellows,

My case was transfered to Newark and on the transfer notice BCIS indicated that Newark office was the one to inteview me but they attached a new york telephone number. I checked the telephone number and found the number was the NY city INS office number. Does anybody know what happen? Please drop some advice.

Thanks,

fapei-newark,

I did not check the phone number on the notice, but I recalled that it is started with area code 973? New york city area code should be 212. Don't worry, maybe it is just a typo.
