Case transferred to Local INS office in Indiapolis, whereas we live in detroit.

Is this normal? The AVM changed today to say 'On July 31st 2002, case transferred to Local INS Office in Indianapolis, and they will send you a written decision on this case......'

We are confused, because we are in detroit. Isn't this something unusual? Any help/reply will be appreciated......:(
 
It is a mistake. My friend live in Indianapolis, but his file transferred to Chicago. After three months' waiting, he went to Indianapolis local office, they told him it was a mistake and they made another request to Chicago office to transfer his file to Indianapolis. I think you better go to local office and do the same thing.

Can you please tell me how much time it took for your friend to get the file back from chicago to indiana.
 
They said at least one week. But it has been more than two weeks, my friend still didn't get any reply. Good Luck.
