case transferred to district office?

I have an application with VSC (PD December 2003, Fingerprinting February 2004). The notice of action letter which was sent by VSC when my fingerpinting was scheduled says Charleston, WV district office. However, based on my zip code, I should be with Arlington, VA.

I called USCIS and I was told that I should receive a letter stating that my case was transferred from VSC to the local district office. Has any of you received that after fingerpinting? Is there any way I could find out where my application is?
Thanks.

Thanks. That's what I thought, but the lady from USCIS seemed to be very sure that she couldn't check where my application was because I didn't have that letter (???).

My fingerprint appointment letter clearly said where my fingerprinting was going to be done and where my interview would be conducted, so even if this is not my local office (but relatively close), this should be the place where my application is, right?

Once again, thanks.

Hi,

I had seen some one else in the forum writing about their smooth interview experience at Charleston, WV although their district office was different. I think this may CIS way of load distribution. As far as Customer service, I see many posts in the forum indicating their cluelessness.

Customer service.

Last time I called the USCIS customer service, I realized they were answering to questions reading the informations of my case # from the USCIS website.
That's what I already did by myself.
A waste of time.
