Hello,

I got an email says :

On June 15, 2004, we transferred your I485 Application to Register
Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE
CENTER for processing. Our office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER will
send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should
receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a
local office. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800)
375-5283 to receive information about local office processing times.

I have moved to California last year. Any Idea why ? Any one in the same boat ? My case is very simple. No Employment change since came to US. Still working on H1B no EAD used.

Does it means i will have to face interview ?

Case Deails :

RD : 08/2002
Ist FP : 09/2002
IInd FP : 04/2004
3rd EAD : 05/2004

ubhavsar,
I too moved to CA from NSC in 2002 after our 1st FP & EAD. Your updated message concerns me. Try to find out how long it will take for such transfers to be processed. I am sure it should not take long. Can you post to which area local office is it transferred.
Is this a backlog reduction process at NSC???

Peace of Mind,

Don`t know Which office it was transferred. What is your detail ? can u post your RD /FP / EAD detail ?

Thanks

You should be OK. Cases get transferred to another service center, if you move out of NSC's jurisdiction. However, I don't know if this is done 100% of the time, but if NSC comes to know (typically thru a change of address), they do transfer the case. I've seen cases transferred to VSC. And I've seen those cases processed faster, since they now came under VSC's processing time frame. Similarly you could get luck as CSC seems to be processing faster that NSC - their official processing time is 3 months ahead of NSC.

Good Luck!
