Case Transfered to Seattle!

I just received an email message from USCIS informing me that our cases were transfered to the Seattle office. Any idea how long it takes Seattle to make a decision these days? Does anyone know if this means that our name check was cleared? Thanks in advance guys!

Here is the exact message my wife and I have right now!

On December 15, 2005, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in SEATTLE, WA for processing. That office has jurisdiction over the case. They will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 to receive information about local office processing times.

Mr. Green,

I am a TSC filer but know a lot about TRXs. A case getting trx to a local office does not mean that the name check is done. Also local offices have their own processing dates that are not governed by the service centers. I have known cases to take about 1-2 months to get from the service center to the local office. This is not always true but I have known this to happen.

You best bet is to visit the local district office that your case has been transferred to and get information from them. If your PD is current then the local office will setup an interview. I have not known to many local offices approving cases without an interview.

My advise to you would be to keep a close eye on your case and keep following up with the local office to make sure the case makes it there properly.

My case was TRX to the wrong local office a couple of years and ago and I am still paying the price for the mistakes USCIS made.

Good luck with your case.

regards,

I'm not sure what you are congratulating me about, but thanks anyway :D I still think I'm a long way away from approval. Who knows how long the name check thing will take!

Yes, I'm going to send an email to the Seattle office tonight and inquire about my case. I feel silly doing it when my file was only transfered a few days ago. They probably don't even have my file yet, but I'm going to send them an email anyway!

FYI,

I sent an email to the Seattle office asking about our cases, and they replied less than 12 hours later! They told me that our applications are being sent to them, and they will notify us as soon as they make a decision. I know nothing new, but still the quick response is very impressive!
