Post your case details ....

what's unusual in your case ?

Without that, no one can give you any useful answer :)

ok lets see
I guess it could be labor subsititution.
rest all is the same
140 was approved
changed address once that to within the same ZIP CODE.
nothing else I can think of.
Could be random pick too

I bet it's a random pick. Labor substitution - I doubt it's a problem. I know a guy who did that plus switched jobs before 180 days and still got approved. He totally cheated on CIS (then INS), in many ways - he was laid off after 140 got approved and before filing 485, filed for 485 and started working for a totally differeny company and used I 140 from the old one... yet approved. If his case didn't get transferred, then yours is definitely a random pick.

What kind of an interview is it.
Grill kind of or general
any inputs welcome
They'll ask you techie questions depending on the approved LCA to make sure you fit it!

- No just kidding :D

They usually ask questions that would ensure that your application information is bonafide & accurate.

Also if you got married recently, that might be validated as well

Not a bad news. Job based GC interviews are smooth usually.
Please check my message, I have posted details of paperwork I took with me.
Depending on your back ground check, they may approve your case immediately after the interview.
I noticed they are giving priority to transferred cases over cases filed in local office (marriage based). Hopefully they will call you in within two months.
Good luck,

Thanks Jogi for the words of assurance and thanks to rux rux and all who have lent in an ear and tried to make me less anxious. By the by Rux rux I wish all the best for your interview and will be looking out for your upodate next month.
This forum is wonderful and i really appreciate what everybody does here.
Its is a kind of Hand holding ..and works both ways or multiple ways.
Anyways Let me wait for what they want and then go through your list again. I do have an attorney and maybe he will accompany me.
But i think LA is going to be tough as they as of now processing FEB2003 but my being emplyment case i am keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks once again

No problem Al_aos,
They may call you early. My local office was processing Jan 04 cases but they called me early ( my date was May 27, 04). I saw another case in this forum which got transferred to LA and was called in within 2 months.

I do not know about LA, but in my local office, 99% cases are marriage/family based. So the officer focused on family related issues (not even a single question about compnay etc..). If that is the case with LA too, keep a strong paperwork required for family related gc applicants. (e.g Birth Certf., Tax Returns, Marriage Certf, Children Birth Cert, Apt lease, etc...)

with me the case is My wife accompanied me along with my son to the US.
her passport is in the married name.
we have a registered marriage certi etc. but u r right am going to start accumulating documents.
adding :
we had already submitted all documents birth certificates etc with the 485 application.do u think they will still ask for more

Jogi

You mentioned in yur post the interviewer asked you regular questionfrom form ( did you do this /that). would you elaborate on that please
appreciate it
Thanks

Regular questions, which you answer in your 485 form.
Did you get arrested?
did you commit crime?
are you coummnist?
DUI? tickets if any? Paid or not?

Officer asked original doc for each doc I had submitted. She saw the original and stamped one in our file (perhaps verfication for records).

Birth Certf: It totally depends on officer. I have seen diffrerent experiences in different cases. If you have birth certifcate with birth register date after the birth, you should have no problem. However, if birth was registered rececntly (just to get birth certf), it may be helpful to get affidavits of 2 people (you can find format of affidavit on many immigration websites).
-------------------
Did your/your spouse finger print go ok? I mean did your status change after doing FPs? Mine did not. FPs were not readable (even after doing twice in 2 months). Officer asked to get police clearance (costs $30 and lot of time in line) from police HQ.

The message on my case read that Finger prints were recd and processing resumed , soI am guessing that they went ok.
My birth certificate was registered recently so I think getting those affidavits would be a good idea.
Also I think my tenth CBSE certificate should also do , wat do yuo think.

If it is easy for you to get affidavit(s), I'll suggest to get it.

In my case officer did not like wording of affidavit (signed by my neighbor). She said it should clearly state that he has been your neighbor since your birth and knows you for ... years.
A friend of mine got approved with recently registered birth certf, with out any problem (approved at Service center, no interview).
Another friend, whose case was marriage based, was asked to get affidvait as his birth was registerd recenctly. His case got delayed 1 to 2 months (while he arranged the affidavit).
