case transfered to local offic in San Diego

Hello all,

my case got transfered to local office
"On July 27, 2004, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in SAN DIEGO, CA for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months."

... anyone speculate on why this happened. my case details are in the signature

any idea on when I might be scheduled .. is it really many months. Is there a big backlog at the local offices?

Check out uscis website. They have post the processing dates(months) at local offices too.

crap... it looks like its another 6 months of waiting... local office is processing Feb 2004 I-485 cases

Its not very reflective of the right dates, I think. ruxrux got appointment in about a month. I am not sure how you take appointment though. Call local office.

I am not sure calling local office will help. You cannot do anything to get your interview scheduled.

My obeservation is that they are giving priority to cases transferred from service center. So expect you interview within 2 months.

I got it in 9 days in San Jose. Don't look at SD processing times, it's got nothing to do with you, that's for cases filed originally in SD. Yours is a transfer and you'll get approved in 2-3 months, I think.

last question ... do you get email or status update when you get an appointment from local office .. or is it sent in the mail.

In the mail. The status on uscis.gov remains the same ... transferred.
