Hi Guys.

Two weeks ago I called 800 number to have my address changed on my I-485. But yesterday I received a notice from USCIS informing me that my case had been transferred to LA.

The problem is they still use my old address on the notice. Have you guys had similar experience? So far I have not received a confirmation letter for address change yet.

What would you do?

Thanks.

-------------- you need to inform NCSC 1-800 AND the service center with certified return reciept

But yesterday I received a notice from USCIS informing me that my case had been transferred to LA.
------------------------- nothing wrong with this, they trasfer many cases to local office for interview

---Many have faced and facing similar problems
So far I have not received a confirmation letter for address change yet.
------- you may not get it, what you need to do is take the printout of online meassge that says file transfred to local office and write a letter to Lcoal USCIA LA that your new address is:XXXXXXXXXX attach the I-485 filing reciept +(transfer notice copy if you have)and on coverletter write your Name as on I-484 reciept A#, DOB and your NEW address and past address request them to change it on I-485 and also request that Interview letter should be sent to new address, if you are near to Local LA office take infopass visit local USCIS office and update the address

What would you do?
---I will do the above and if my present address is not near to LA I will send letter to LA USCIS and they may transfer the file to local USCIS near to your present address ( it may take time)
Thanks.

For the information of you guys who have similar issues:

I went to LA district office on infopass and filled out another form AR-11 and handed it over to the lady. She said it is needed to to update address information on I-485s upstairs.

However, when I was asking her other questions like the status of name check, she refused to answer by saying the interview officers will let me know.

Unfortunately, because of this change of my address, my approved EAD cards (4/28) were lost for good :(

Thanks again, ginnu. You're a great guy!

Case transfer !

Hey guys,

I am very confused. Hope someone can guide mein.

We got our case transfer from NY to California Sanjose local office. We changed our adress on phone. With in 2 months we got interveiw letter. But before we got that notice we moved to CT. our interview date is in march 6th.

now I am affraid if at this crucial time I again fill AR-11 for my adress change they will again transfer my case to CT. It will take how much time. I don't know.

Would it be good idea to continue my california adress till my interview is done or I sh'd get my adress changed?
