Case status- we are awaiting further information from another office...

I made a second inquery on my case last month and got the following response few days ago. Does anyone have any idea what this means? Has anyone received this kind of response?

"The processing of your petition/application has been delayed. We are awaiting further information from another office to assist us in the final adjudication of this case. As soon as this information is received, processing will continue on this case."

i got exactly the same thing from VSC , biscally , they have send my file to the local INS office , the NY USCIS , i doing some kind kind a check in my case , and VSC is waiting for them to finish thier crap

Could you please tell me how do you know they have sent your file to the local office?
 
i do not think so , when you send the request to VSC FOIA , they will tell wether your file is in VSC or in your local INS office
 
my fbi name check cleared way back in jan 2003( my case's rd was jan 2002 not 2003). but i get t he sam erepsonse from vsc.i don't from which office they are wiating to hear from.but this delay sucks.

I am too stuck with same problem. Made expediate inquiry on my I-140 which is pending from last 2 Yrs (VCS) Got message "The

My finger printing is cleared , also got response from FBI ( security check is done ). I don't knw what for thy are waiting..

Can any one tell me, what shall I do.
