Hi friends,
I hope everyone is fine and doing well. As it is seems confirmed now that there is going to be another DV-2013 selection in 1st October. I was wondering what the case numbers of the new winners would be. For example, I have seen an African winner on this forum with case number 105628. Now suppose if more Africans are selected, how would their case numbers look like? Could we see something like this 101000? The same goes to Asia, could we see very high case numbers for Asia as well? My point, as you may have noticed, is that selection of such new winners could have impact on the pace of the cut-off's. If we get more winners with high case numbers, the cut-off should move faster to accomodate those new winners to be interviewed. Your thoughts????

Best wishes to everybody!

How is it confirmed mdawoodm? I must have missed something :)

It says "will" in the status check page. And I said "it seems confirmed", not "confirmed". Anyways, let us don't get into that argument. Suppose, they do select new winners, your thoughts??????????

Best wishes!

True true, no time for arguments, just hopeful optimistic thoughts that yes, they will do another draw next week. I am with you on that :)

I must admit I do not follow how the numbers seem to be allocated. My only focus is that I will one day receive a number at all, and how it fits in with their numerical system is probably different for every region. There has been so much discussion lately on cut off numbers high and low, who has the highest, what is the lowest, in the big picture, I don't think this matters to make any difference. Look at Oceania, our cut off is mere hundreds! lol

Even after the draw, and hopefully there will be one next week, we will never really get a clear picture of the system.

And that's ok. I leave that work to Kentucky. I will spend my energy on thinking positive things and leave the statistical work to others :)

All the very best!

Good luck for the selection, then! I hope you get selected, and come here on this forum and share your case number with us. That way we could learn a bit more about the case numbering thing.

Best of luck!
