Case number EAC03**** question

My I-485 case number starts with EAC03008**** and was filled on September 25, 2002. Looking at http://immigrationwatch.com/ cases aproved recentry at Vermont SC all of the aproves cases start with EAC02**** does this '02 represent the year when was filled? I don't undestand why my case is '03 if it was filled in 2002.

Is anyone in the same situation?

I hope my lawyer didn't mess this up......

It is possible that you filed your application in October of 2002. Every 1st of October the year changes. So October 2002 1st is 03001 ..... so on....

my lawyer keep saying that the receipt date is september 25... but to be honest I haven't see this paper.....

I am going nuts as you can see...... don't know what to do anymore..... :)

EAC- represents Vermont
03- represents the year your app was filed (Oct 2002-Sep 2003 = 03)
008 - represents the day your app was received by USCIS (Oct 01, 02 = 03001, Oct 02, 02 =03002 and so on)

So it looks like your app was sent Sep 25 and received (as per their records) around first week of Oct 02.

So the EAC number looks fine.
