Case Inquiry on my I-485

I have opened up case inquiry for my pending case of I-485. It has already been more than 45 days and I have not received any LUD on my case nor I have received any reply from USCIS. Has somebody been in a similar situation?
Is it ok to call USCIS and open another case inquiry. What are my options? Please help.

I had placed an enquiry in Nov '06 no response yet. They may tell u something within 4-5 months if your are lucky. Contact senator or start AILA inquiry if ur PD is current..

I also requested. then I did not get any responce. I called them she said name check is pending. then after few days I got a mail from USCIS in responce to my inquiry that my case is transfered to Texas?!?!?! which I knew it for about one year!. so you will not get any usefull data from inquiry.

If you have a attorney handling your case,. It is better to have the attorney send the inquiry.

They have responded with in two weeks to my attorney's inquiry.

I sent one myself initially -- never got a response back.
