Case got transferred Hartford, CT

I think so ... if they planned to transfer your case I think they would have done it by now ...

I guess my 2RFEs won't likely cause any local office transfer. Also the pain in maintaining 2 address span accross 2 states. If i am slammed with a xfer, consider me the unlucky among all.

no illegal move or anything....how do I suppose to know about this housing thing? We did file AR11 back in may 2003 and only 2 months ago called the service center and changed address!!!! We did not even know about the address change by calling the national cust. center.....just heard it from this forum and did it.....

A stupid question !!!!
Do lawyer's office have any effect on adjudicating officer, i mean their reputation with service center ?
There are few cases who got directly approved from service centers w/t any RFE at any stage at all from VSC in current mos.

Don't know whether those cases had any address change or ac-21 ....

Two live examples of my friends in NJ who got approved from VSC in July-04, 2 in-state moves during 485 process.
1st move-same county
2nd move-different county but same local office jurisdiction
They called NSC twice and updated their cases too !!!!!!!

No case xfer but had RFEs in 140 stage, no RFEs in 485.

Caution : Few states have more than one local office jurisdiction example NJ,NY.
NJ ->Newark,Cherry hill
NY -> Buffalo,NYC.

So think twice before moving accross counties.
This situation is alarming only at VSC.

any idea what shall I do for EAD renewal? Do I need to file in VSC or need to go to local office?

I am not sure 100% but I think you have to go to Hartford for the EAD from now ... just one more q: was your case NIW, EB?
Thanks

The address change isn't the problem. I moved from one service center jurisdiction to another (Long Island to Chicago) and it didn't get my case transferred.

From the I-485 Operating manual:
"Applications require a relocation if the officer determines:
• a need for validation of identity
• a need for validation of legal status
• questionable admissibility and/or qualifications
• apparent fraud
• a second filing
• an applicant with fingerprint rejected twice
• an applicant with medical condition class A or B
• the A-file cannot be located at the time of adjudication"

Unfortunately, now-a-days its all random. Even 3 mos ago i had this notion, not any more now. VSC is notorious in Xferring cases.
I know very few cases which got approved directly from service centers after out of state moves, but those numbers are diminishing everyday in VSC.
EB1/EB2/EB3 doesn't matters.

Jish,
What do you mean "now-days"? My case was approved a week ago.
The interview is a standard part of the normal process. It can be waived only if the principal applicant hasn't changed his employer and there is no question about his security status (marriage, identity, legal status, medical etc).

In a goverment office they follow their procedures like the Bible, so I would suspect there is some issue that has been identified in pibo's case. Only he can guess what it was. The interview will clarify it.

Pibo,
Are you likely to get affected by the retrogression?

I don't know if I agree with that ... if you look at my previous posts (http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=125115) usually they transfer 50-60% of cases and directly approve ~20-30% ... of course the tranfers come first in bulk, aprovals after that and in the end are even for the rest of the cases ... this trend was pretty constant in the last year ...

Udacha6, I never mentioned out of state moves will invoke Xfer for 100% cases OR no moves cases will get approved from service centers directly. Chances are high for out of state moves.
There is an user in the forum "PremChopra", who had similar issue as pibo.No obvious reasons.
His case got xfered to Atlanta local office in last 2 weeks.Search on his postings.

Where should I go for EAD renewal?

Guys, Please let m eknow what shall I do with EAD renewal?

Udacha, what is this retrogression thing? Please clarify? If it is something bad, it will definitely follow me.

Personally I think they are just transferring to keep the figures down in the main service centre's no one keeps track on district offices so there backlog can be huge hence Hartford's.

Has for Hartford processing per Senator's enquiry it is taking 1 year from them receiving the case but you really need to go and make sure your case is there. the last thing you want is it getting there months later like mine supposedly did..???

Hi Pibo

If your case is definitately at HArtford file it there although they will pass it onto MSC as they no longer deal with the application but I will tell you mine took 4 months so give yourself plenty of time. I don't know what the processing times are now althought you can get IEAD if needed after 90 days
