carry OCI document along with passport to travel to India?

Do we need to carry the OCI document (The one looks like Indian passport with 4 pages) along with US passport to travel to India? Since we have U visa in passport, I am hoping that this extra document is not needed.

I don't think you need to carry the OCI booklet when you travel but does not harm to keep the booklet handy just in case. After travelling couple of times you can then decide if you should really carry the booklet.

A friend of mine who landed at the Trivandrum airport, was explicitly asked to show the OCI booklet. I do not know what they would have done if he hadnt carried it with him.
