Hi,

I would like to start a thread for tracking message changes and card processing after stamping. Since card processing times depend on local center, this thread is to track details of those who stamped at SJC.

My details:

WAC-02-121-XXXX
AD: 9/8/04
Stamped: 9/21/04 at SJC
No change in message or LUD.
Message still says 'Your case has been approved....'

PS: 9/20/2004 at SJC
waiting for the card to arrive

Last status update on 10/5/2004:
"Our last written notice in this case was returned as undeliverable by the post office on October 5, 2004. To update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

The above message is most likely due to the fact that I haven't received the courtesy copy of my I-485 approval notice.

Thanks for starting this thread.

My details:

WAC-03-051-XXXX

Email yesterday : "after approving your application, we ordered you a
new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

Card ordered

Got this mail today. Stamped on Oct 12th at SJC. How long does it typically take after ordering?

On October 20, 2004, after approving your application, we ordered you a
new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case
status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or
advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please
contact the National Customer Service Center.

Thunderstruck,

wow! that was fast ...I am guessing the local office probably collects a bunch of approvals and then orders the cards for all of them in one shot?

From what I've heard/read, it usually takes a week to get the card in hand after the "card ordered" message.

AD 9/20
SD 10/13

It is fast!!!

I know. The lady at the SJ office told me it will be 6 months. I thought they say that because they dont want people sending them inquiries and bothering them. I had heard typically the card takes 2 months or so. It is really weird how they work.

I think thats what they do, collect all stamped cases for a month and may be send it one day. The people who do it at the end of that monthly cycle are lucky may be. Or may be each person decides to send their share of stamped cases at their discretion and some people send it early and some dont. Anyway, hopefully I will receive the card by the end of the month. Lets see.
