Card Tracker for PP Stamping in Dec, 2004.

Mr. Dragonking,
After you get your GC stamped in your passport, you can get a replacement SSN card issued for your and your dependents with no employment restrictions.
The SSN you get as a non-immigrant has employment restrictions on it. The process is simple. They take the old card and provide you with a receipt for the processing of the replacement card. The card should arrive in 5 to 7 business days.
Good luck.

Does that mean that you get a new number as well or just like an endorsment with the existing card?

a new card is issued where in the statement "need work authorization to work" is gone further their system is updated with you new status.
# remains the same -

btw - New SSN # is like a new identity which is lot more trouble and complicated.
