Thanks Y'all for being such a great support at this site. It's like going to a shrink, except people at this site REALLY undestand you.
Today I went into the SS office and filled out the paper work for removing a work constraint from my Social Security card.
The employee at the table told me that I need to present her a valid green card or a temporary I-551 card. I told her that it takes about 8 years to get a green card at the rate the USCIS is going, but I qualify for the new social security card NOW. I showed her a letter but she told me that I was full of sh&*t and that I needed to get my TEMPORARY 551 card first.
Is that TRUE, if not WHAT's my next step.
