I was married in jordan, Please no nasty comments!!!!! We had our first appointment at the american embassy in jordan and they accepted us, our immigration lawyer in jordan told us we have more appointment and she said this appointment my husband should recieve his visa. The second appointment isn't until april 1st 2007, like 7 months away. I have been in united states for 6 months now from my husband because i had a family death and I don't have the money right now to go back. Does anyone know of a way we can get our appointment sooner besides asking a senator, or a governor. we tried that. Anything would help, thanks!?

Oh yea it's really simple. You go to the USCIS office and tell them that you are really special and deserve to jump in front of everyone else. I'm sure the millions of other people also waiting won't mind (I know I won't). And as soon as you tell the nice lady at the counter that you're special and deserve to jump the line, they will get you a new appointment, maybe even the next day.
Eddie...take it easy, would ya? just say directly that there is not "speed process" at all for family based.
The point here is that unfortunately you will have to wait and 7 months away is a pretty good average waiting period.
What you can do is to try to save money so you would be able to go there to visit him until he gets the visa. In the other side, he can continue working there and save money as well, until when he comes here then you both will have enough money save that can help you out while he is looking for a job.
