Hi everyone,

I am trying to file GC application for my wife by do-it-yourself. I can type in I-130 form and save the form for later use but I cannot save the I-485 form. Is there a version/edition of I-485 PDF file that can be saved? Please help.

Thanks, Jack

The version USCIS has does not allow you to save it. It usully give you a warning once you start typing. You should just type everything in and save it.

You mean type it and print it. That's one option, of course.
However, in order to be able to save the pdf you need to get adobe acrobat (the higher the version is the better).
And, the USCIS version of a document has nothing to do with it. You probably have Acrobat Reader on your computer which doesn't allow you to save pdf files.

I believe he meant you can't save (certain) pdf documents. Those that have restrictions. Such as the USCIS I-485 / G-325a, etc.

Unless there is a way to circumvent this "protection" that you know and are not telling us? and if there is and you can't/won't tell us... then are you just showing off? Mr. Hacker?

Not a tech forum but...

Acrobat Reader can save pdf forms but they have to be Reader Extended. With LiveCycle Reader Extensions one can add special usage rights to a pdf to unlock Acrobat like functionality in the free reader (ie: saving a pdf with the data)
