All,
If this forum is not the right place for this, I apologize. Since obtaining a Canadian visa is the first step towards getting the H1 visa stamped, I thought I should post this question here.
I m currently in Texas (under H1B with I-797 approved but visa not stamped) and plan to mail my documents to the Canadian consulate in LA.
Could anyone who applied for their Canadian visa by mail post the documents they submitted here?. Basically, I am looking at submitting the following:
1. IMM-5227
2. Passport + I-94 (Original)
3. Visa appt letter from US consulate (Copy)
4. Employment verification letter (Original)
5. Bank statements (Copies/Printouts)
6. Pay stubs (Copies/Printouts)
7. 2 photos
8. I-797 (COPY)
9. OPT and I-20 (COPIES)
My question basically concerns items 8 and 9.
(a) Is a certified copy of the I-797 enough?. I am a bit leery about
submitting the original...what if they decide that document is for them
to keep?.
(b) Since I am now a worker, is it advisable to submit the OPT/I-20 as they
do not seem relevant?. If YES, are copies enough?
Any help is sincerely appreciated
Thanks,
