Hello,
I am a canadian PR since March 2002. I used to work on H1 earlier in USA. Currently, i live in canada. I have been involved in providing business services to a US company. I have also been responsible for getting couple of new clients for this US company.
I did travel occassionaly to US for this purpose.
This US company wants me to work in US as their Operations and Marketing Manager.
I am desperately waiting for the completion of 365 days in canada to qualify for the L1 visa.
1) At the border, while landing, i was never asked to return my I-94, which i use to go to US occassionally to finalize or sign a new client agreement. How do i show to INS that i have stayed out of USA for 365 days?.
2) Is INS very particular about L1 applicants meeting the above criteria?
3) at the end of 365 days in canada, can i come back to US and apply for the L1 from here?
I am really looking for answers to my above queries. I would appreciate any suggestions, advice etc.
Thanks,
JJ.
