Canadian Police Certificate - Name Based or Finger Printing one required?

Hello, Having stayed in Canada for some time, the Canadian Police Certificate required... does this have to be a Finger Prining one OR Name Based search?
Any ideas/experiences on how long this will take and how to get this done quick?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Also, i had spent some time in Europe in high school... and if my Police Certificate does not come in time for my interview, what do i do?

I had my interview in Frankfurt, Germany. They require the finger printing one from Canada, which takes weeks(or months) to get. I think you can submit the document after the interview.
 
I am in the same situation, the Canadian website says it takes 120 days to process the application (and they don't do priority processing, it is first come first served) and remember to take into account the time it takes to be posted to Canada and back! I got a bank cheque yesterday, I am going to my local police station tomorrow to get the fingerprints done. My interview is next month so I am hoping if I am approved for a visa, they hold it for me until the police check comes through.
