Canadian passport renewal (no Advanced parole yet)

Hello,

My canadian passport is expiring within 4 month.
I am in process of filling renew application.

Can any one know any proven photographer in michigan,USA.
Any idea?
 
I would wait until I could cross the border, and get the photo done in Canada. There have been just too many problems with US photos, and you really should keep your passport.

Gert the photos done in canada, and pay for the expeidtied service to get it in 2 days. in person, next time you are there... in Ontario, Canada.
 
That's will be best scenario.

But my passport expiring in May,2008.
And not sure how long it take to receive A.P. (GOD forbid, if stuck in name check)

I have to take a chance and send in mail
 
AP and EAD have nothing to do with name check. You submitted thse 6 months ago, you should have them already. They typically take 3-4 months.
 
Check whether you can renew your Canadian passport in any Canadian consulate in USA. This will be less complicated.
 
I renewed my passport last year by mail with ZERO PROBLEMS.

I took a photo according to the US specs (photographer did not have Canadian "cutter") and simply sent them in, with a cover letter on why they were out of spec, and they were accepted.

For your situation, I believe I read somewhere in this forum that you do not need to have a canadian passport to get TN. I believe if you show a valid canadian citizenship card then you can still get the TN.

If I were you, I would not worry too much, just sent it by mail (with a request for signature) and make sure you make copies of the key pages, and present this to the officer in case they ask for the passport, and provide the citizenship card in leu of the passport (with supporting evidence of it's renewal)
